Sideling Hill syncline
This road cut is located 6 miles west of Hancock in Washington County, Maryland.
The upper portion consists of sandstones and conglomerates of the Mississippian
age. Lower portion is the Purslane Formation overlying limestones and shales of
the Rockwell formation.
