Dacite is an extrusive igneous rock,
often porphyritic, that
has the same mineral composition as a quartz diorite.
It contains plagioclase, quartz, pyroxene or hornblende.
Biotite and sanidine (a variety of orthoclase feldspar)
may also be present.
