Tenacity:  brittle            Streak:   white
 

Transparency:  transparent to translucent     

 

Crystal Forms:   Orthorhombic
     Crystals are prismatic and resemble topaz crystals.

Mineral Associations:  microcline, oligoclase, dolomite

Identifying Characteristics:

Uses:  rarely as a gemstone

Occurrences:  New York; Switzerland, Madagascar 

Toxicity:      when-swallowed-        when inhaled-
