Color:  indigo-blue or darker, tarnishes iridescent

Streak: lead-gray to black        Luster:  metallic (opaque)

Cleavage:  (0001) perfect

Crystal Forms: Hexagonal system
     Crystals are are; often as masses of thin, cleavable plates

Mineral Associations:  bornite, chalcopyrite, chalcocite

Identifying Characteristics:

Uses:  copper ore

Occurrences:  found in zone of secondary enrichment

Toxicity:      when-swallowed- moderate           when inhaled- moderate
