common beryl- hexagonal prism crystal
Beryl is beryllium aluminum silicate.
One of its most common crystalline forms is a
hexagonal prism with a flat top.
This specimen is about 3.5 inches long and is
covered in many places by thin
mica plates. Most of the time, common beryl is a
translucent, pale, milky
color with a tint of bluish-green.
