Scorpions
Scorpions like to hide in dark areas under stones and decaying vegetation. 
Always kick a rock over with your foot before picking it up. 
A good general rule is never put your fingers where you cannot see them.
In the following photos, the scorpions fluoresced under an ultraviolet lamp.
