The northern part of the Santa
Rita Mountains and the Empire Mountains
to the east consists of a pod of
Precambrian granite flanked by a complex block
faulted mass of various rocks
including Precambrian granite, Cretaceous sediments
and granite, small pods of
Paleozoic sediments, and Tertiary volcanics.
